From Mechanic to Enforcement

How mechanic gates, verification outcomes, rule violations, penalties, DQ, and bans relate—one reference chain.

Mechanics, verification, and enforcement answer different questions. Use this page when you need a single pipeline; details stay in the linked articles.

Reference chain

  1. Mechanic mismatch — The activity does not satisfy the race format (pace floor, corridor, window, etc.). Publication to that race is blocked at post time. Not Disqualification (DQ) by itself (Race mechanics).
  2. Verification decline — A submission fails automation or review; it is rejected or not Verified. Fix evidence or re-submit where policy allows (Manual review, Submission requirements). Routine declines are not DQ.
  3. Rule violation — Documented breach of competition or conduct rules; may lead to measured penalties short of full removal (Rule violations, Penalties).
  4. Serious integrity breach — Fraud, systematic manipulation, repeat abuse patterns; may lead to Disqualification (DQ) for the result or participant (Disqualification, Abuse & manipulation policy).
  5. Account-level sanctionBans or access loss sit in Participation & eligibility / enforcement policy, not in mechanic scoring.

DQ is reserved for integrity harm—not for “picked wrong race” or “submission declined once.”
