Shield Protection

A Shield neutralizes the negative progression impact of certain race outcomes (for example DNS / DNF treatment under policy)—it does not add URX Points or improve Accuracy.

Inventory

You receive five (5) Shields each year, where the year starts from your account registration anniversary (same anchor as Exempt quotas), not the calendar January cycle.

When you may apply one

Only while the race is still open on your side—before the race is completed / closed for you in the product sense used for outcomes.
After the race finishes, you cannot retroactively attach a Shield to that entry.

Fairness

Shield never grants a positive advantage; it only blocks defined downside adjustments. It cannot override enforcement once staff finalize an integrity decision (Appendix A (A.7)).

Discipline Metric

Discipline uses a 90-day rolling window from publication timestamps to score training regularity—see Submission requirements and Appendix A (A.4).

Exempt Status

Self-service Exempt pauses progression impact for up to 60 days per registration year from Basic (BSC); consume in one-day increments from your profile.
