A stage is a defined phase within a race.
When a race uses stages, each stage may carry its own timing, targets, or gates; together they make up the full mechanic the athlete must satisfy. What counts as a stage, and how stages chain, is always published with the race—typically in the race brief.
Not every race is multi-stage. If no stages are described, treat the race window as a single competitive block under one mechanic.

Race Mechanics
Race mechanics set format and scoring; most RUN races apply a minimum pace floor so efforts stay in running range—details in the race brief.
Entry
A race entry is the right to participate in a specific race after registration—one entry per athlete per race, distinct from roster slots or division moves.
