Pace Ladder format: each new submission must beat the pace of the previous one. 100 km total, across as many sessions as needed—provided every one of them clears the bar set by the last. No improvement means no publication: the system blocks the submission outright.

After the window. The live phase closes on 5 June; official standings follow after verification. Provisional order can shift until Results out.

Why “.execution”. Not a single statement of fitness—a sequence of proofs. Each rung on the ladder has to be earned. The name is a description of the work.

A hundred kilometres with a constraint that tightens every time out: each run must be faster than the one before. Not once—every time. That means managing fatigue and recovery across six weeks while everything else in the season is also live. The format offers no negotiation: a plateau is a blocked submission.

The deadline lands on 5 June, inside the closing block of Rembrandt, Mundial, and Thirteen. Pace is required at the point when April and May are already behind, the legs know what this season has cost, and several races are still in the queue. This is where the season separates.

• Entry point — Too conservative a start leaves slow kilometres in the record and narrows room to grow. Too fast closes the ceiling early and leaves nowhere to go. The first submission sets the floor for everything that follows.

• Frequency vs recovery — More sessions mean more registered improvements; fewer sessions mean longer rest and larger jumps required every time out. Neither path is safe.

• When to stop — The last valid submission before 5 June locks the result. A final push in the first days of June competes directly with the end-of-season block when reserves are already low.

• Enter vs stay out — Barrel 100 and .execution are the only hundreds in the season. An uncompleted ladder is a blank next to the name while others have a result.

A completed ladder at 100 km sits in the record alongside Barrel 100 as the season’s second hundred—but the Pace Ladder format shows more than volume. The trajectory is visible: how pace grew from the first submission to the last, across weeks and fatigue and everything else the season stacked on top.
